Sunfish Large
- "The sunfish is one of my favourite creatures, and this image has been in my mind since I first saw two sunfish several years ago while on a dive boat in the Isles of Scilly. These curious fish fascinated me, just resting on the surface (rather like giant dustbin lids!) lazily flapping their fins, basking in the sun. Their slightly sad expressions and quiet gracefulness captivated me. In May '99, with the help of the National Marine Aquarium, I was able to do some work at L'Aquarium in Barcelona, and I was thrilled to discover that they had some sunfish. I was amazed to see how quickly they can move, and apparently even jump out of the water!"
